Frequently Asked Questions

Can I pre-fill both the phone number and message?+

Yes. You set both the recipient number and the message body. The user can edit either before sending if they choose.

Does the text send automatically?+

No. The QR code opens the messaging app with the draft ready. The user must tap Send manually.

Does it work with iMessage?+

Yes. On iPhones, the QR code opens the Messages app. If both parties use iMessage, it will send as iMessage. Otherwise it falls back to standard SMS.

Can I use a short code instead of a full phone number?+

Yes. You can enter any valid phone number or short code as the recipient.

Is there a character limit for the pre-filled message?+

We recommend keeping the pre-filled message under 160 characters (one SMS segment) for reliability across all devices and carriers.
